Best Skincare Routine for Oily Skin in Pakistan

Oily skin does not need a crowded bathroom shelf. For most women, the best routine is surprisingly small: cleanse gently, moisturise when your skin needs it, protect with sunscreen—and add treatment only when there is an actual problem to treat.

Our rule: don’t buy a product simply because “for oily skin” is printed on the bottle. Choose by formulation + your actual concern + your climate.
01 · Start Simple

Just tell me what to do.

If you have uncomplicated oily skin and no major acne, blackheads, irritation or pigmentation problem, you do not need a complicated routine.

🌙 Night

Simple morning and night skincare routine for oily skin with cleanser, moisturiser and sunscreen
Oily skin does not automatically need toner, essence, scrub, exfoliant, sheet masks or multiple serums. Start with the essentials. Add something only when you know what problem you are trying to solve.

02 · Before You Shop

Gel, fluid, gel-cream or lotion?

You only need a little formulation knowledge to make much better skincare choices. Texture matters especially when your face becomes greasy quickly in Pakistan’s heat and humidity.

Gel, fluid, gel-cream and lotion skincare formulations compared for oily skin
Very Light

💧 Gel

Often comfortable for very oily skin and humid weather. It may feel too light if your skin is irritated or tight.

Thin & Spreadable

💦 Fluid / Milk

Especially useful for sunscreen. Thin textures can make applying adequate sunscreen easier without creating a very heavy layer.

Light + More Hydrating

🧴 Gel-Cream

A good middle ground when your skin is oily but also feels tight, dehydrated or uncomfortable.

More Moisturising

🧴 Light Lotion

Useful for combination skin, cooler weather or when a gel alone does not provide enough comfort.

Velvety / Matte

✨ Dry-Touch / Silicone

Often useful in sunscreen and makeup routines because it can reduce the greasy feel and leave a smoother finish.

Richer

🥛 Cream

Not automatically “bad” for oily skin, but rich creams may feel unnecessarily heavy unless your skin is dry, irritated or treatment-damaged.

Oil-free Does not mean the product switches off your sebaceous glands.
Mattifying / oil-control May mainly reduce surface shine rather than true biological sebum production.
Non-comedogenic Designed to be less likely to clog pores, but no product is guaranteed never to break out every person.
Pakistan reality: a texture that feels perfect in Karachi in July may not be what your skin wants during a dry Islamabad winter.
03 · Cleanser

Your face wash does not need to make your skin squeaky-clean.

The goal is to remove sweat, sunscreen, makeup and excess surface oil without leaving your face burning, tight or uncomfortable.

🫧

Oily skin without major clogging

A gentle cleanser is usually enough. There is no rule saying every oily-skinned woman needs salicylic acid.

Oily + blackheads / clogged pores

A salicylic-acid cleanser may be useful, particularly if blackheads, whiteheads or congestion are part of the picture.

If your cleanser causes burning, tightness, persistent flaking or irritation, don’t assume that means it is “working harder.” Your skin may simply tolerate a gentler cleanser better.

Cleanser options available in Pakistan

Jenpharm Dermive Moisturizing Wash Pakistan PKR ~1,078–1,198 Varies Gentle / barrier-oriented wash Oily skin that becomes tight or irritated Not designed as an aggressive oil-control cleanser—which may actually be an advantage.
AccuFix 1% Salicylic Acid Face Wash Gel Pakistan PKR ~1,371 150 ml Salicylic-acid gel cleanser Oily + blackheads / clogged pores Not compulsory for uncomplicated oily skin; reduce frequency if drying.
Jenpharm Clarevo Salicylic Acid Facewash Pakistan PKR ~988–1,098 Varies Salicylic-acid cleanser Budget option for congestion/acne-prone oily skin Don’t use merely because your skin is shiny.

CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser Imported PKR ~3,700 87 ml Foaming cleanser Premium imported daily option Expensive per ml in Pakistan; imported does not automatically mean better.

04 · Moisturiser

Do you actually need moisturiser if your face is already oily?

Sometimes yes. But the answer is not identical for every oily-skinned woman.

Moisturiser is especially useful when…

Your skin feels tight, irritated or flaky; you are using acne treatments; your cheeks are drier than your T-zone; or cooler weather makes your skin less comfortable.

Can I skip it in the morning?

Sometimes. If your skin is very oily, feels completely comfortable and your sunscreen already provides enough moisturising function, a separate morning moisturiser may simply create another heavy layer.

Morning routine can be:
Cleanse → moisturiser → sunscreen

or, for some very oily women:
Cleanse → sunscreen

Moisturiser options available in Pakistan

Product Origin Approx. price Size Texture Best for Watch-out
Jenpharm Dermive Oil Free Moisturizer Pakistan PKR ~1,098 100 ml Lightweight Oily / combination everyday use Make sure you choose Dermive Oil Free, not the richer Dermive Oily Moisturizer.
AccuFix Crème B3-B5-E 4% Niacinamide Pakistan PKR ~851–990 Varies Light cream Oily skin needing barrier support Very oily humid-weather skin may prefer less product or skip AM moisturiser.
Primary Cerapair Barrier Repair Moisturiser Pakistan PKR ~2,200 100 ml Richer whipped cream Oily but irritated, barrier-damaged or winter-dry skin Can feel too rich for very oily skin in peak summer.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Imported PKR ~2,750–3,200 50 ml Water gel Oily / combination skin wanting light hydration Different market versions exist; seller and formulation should be checked.
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream Fragrance Free Imported PKR ~2,950 50 ml Gel-cream Oily + tight / more reactive skin Slightly richer than a very light gel.

Approximate Pakistan prices checked August 2026. Imported prices may differ substantially between sellers.

05 · Sunscreen

The hardest product to get right for oily skin in Pakistan

Many women know sunscreen is important but stop using it because it feels greasy, makes them sweat, pills under makeup or leaves their face much shinier by afternoon.

The best sunscreen for oily skin is not simply the most expensive one. It is a broad-spectrum sunscreen you can apply in an adequate amount and tolerate consistently.

Very oily skin often prefers textures such as fluid, milk, gel or dry-touch/silicone formulations. But personal preference matters. Some women love a velvety silicone finish; others hate it.

Sunscreen options available in Pakistan

Product Origin Approx. price Size Texture / finish Best for Watch-out
Jenpharm Spectra Matt SC SPF 50 Pakistan PKR ~1,798–1,998 ~50 ml Mattifying Oily / acne-prone skin wanting less shine Finish preference varies; matte does not mean medically reducing sebum.
Jenpharm Spectra Block Aqua Fluid SPF 60 Pakistan PKR ~1,498 50 ml Fluid Women who dislike thick sunblocks Always judge comfort and white cast on your own skin tone.
Primary BFF SPF 65 Centella Sun Milk Pakistan PKR ~2,200 50 ml Light sun milk Oily/combination skin wanting a lightweight finish Higher price than many local pharmacy options.
AccuFix Ultimate Sunscreen SPF 50+ Pakistan PKR ~1,715–1,995 Varies Silicone / dry-touch Very oily skin, makeup wearers, shine control Not ideal if you dislike a silicone-heavy velvety feel.
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-Fresh SPF50+ PA++++ Imported PKR ~3,999–4,100 50 ml Light / fresh Imported lightweight option for oily / combination skin Reseller authenticity and pricing matter.
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Oil Control Invisible Fluid SPF 50 Imported PKR ~5,500 50 ml Oil-control fluid Premium imported oily-skin option Much more expensive than strong local alternatives.

Approximate Pakistan prices checked August 2026. Imported products are particularly vulnerable to reseller price variation and counterfeit concerns.

06 · Sunscreen + Makeup

“My sunscreen and makeup break after a few hours.”

This is especially frustrating in Pakistani heat. The solution is not to remove sunscreen from your routine—it is usually to reduce unnecessary layers and make your textures work together.

1

Keep morning skincare light

Don’t automatically stack toner + serum + moisturiser + sunscreen if your very oily skin does not need all those layers.

2

Apply sunscreen properly

Use enough sunscreen rather than mixing it into foundation. Give it a little time to settle before applying makeup.

3

Use thin makeup layers

More foundation is not necessarily more durable on oily skin.

4

Powder where you need it

Usually the forehead, nose, sides of nose and chin—not necessarily a thick layer across the entire face.

5

Blot before adding more powder

Removing some surface oil first can avoid turning your base increasingly cakey.

Primer is optional. If a mattifying or gripping primer actually improves wear around your T-zone, use it. You do not need another product merely because social media says a complete makeup routine requires one.
07 · Treatments

Do you need a serum?

Usually, no. A serum should enter your routine because something remains untreated—not because every skincare shelf needs one.

💧

Niacinamide

A useful optional multipurpose ingredient for some oily-skinned women, but it is not mandatory. A moderate concentration can be perfectly reasonable; 10% is not automatically twice as good as 5%.

Salicylic Acid

More useful when the problem includes blackheads, whiteheads, clogged pores or acne-prone oily skin—not simply because your forehead shines.

Problem first. Ingredient second. Don’t buy salicylic acid, niacinamide, retinol or vitamin C and then search for a reason to put each one on your face.
08 · The TikToker Bathroom Shelf

Your skin does not need an ingredient collection.

A Pakistani beginner can easily end up buying every viral ingredient because each one sounds individually useful.

Salicylic acid Glycolic acid Vitamin C 10% niacinamide Retinol Toner Scrub Multiple serums
Oily skin active overload showing why multiple serums, acids and treatments are not always better
Start: cleanser + moisturiser if needed + sunscreen.

Then ask: What problem is still bothering me?

Add one appropriate treatment and give it time before introducing another.
09 · Treat the Problem

Oily skin is a skin type. The problem is what we treat.

This is the easiest way to stop buying unnecessary skincare.

✨ Just oily

You may not need an active ingredient at all. Focus on a comfortable routine and sunscreen.

⚫ Oily + blackheads

Salicylic acid may be useful.

💧 Extremely oily

If a good routine still leaves you severely oily, there are medical options worth understanding.

✅ Nothing major bothers you

Stop adding products. Consistency may be exactly what your skin needs.

10 · Double Cleansing

Do you need to double cleanse every night?

No. It is a useful technique in some situations—not a universal rule.

Double cleansing may help when…

You wear heavy makeup, long-wear foundation or water-resistant sunscreen that your ordinary cleanser does not remove comfortably.

You may not need it when…

Your normal cleanser removes your sunscreen and daily products well without leaving residue.

A first step can be micellar water, cleansing balm or cleansing oil, followed by your normal cleanser. But don’t add another cleansing step simply because TikTok says every routine requires one.
11 · Pakistani Climate

Your routine can change with the season.

Oily skin in Karachi humidity, Lahore summer and Islamabad winter can feel like three different versions of the same face.

Pakistani summer versus winter skincare routine for oily skin

☀️ Hot / Humid Summer

Fewer layers can feel better. Consider a gel or very light moisturiser, or skip separate morning moisturiser if your sunscreen is enough.

Fluid, milk, gel or dry-touch sunscreen may be easier to tolerate.

Blot sweat/oil rather than repeatedly washing your face throughout the day.

❄️ Cooler / Drier Winter

Your oily skin may suddenly feel tighter or drier.

A gel-cream or lightweight lotion may become more comfortable, especially at night.

If active treatments are irritating you, winter is not the time to prove how “strong” your skin is.

Your skincare routine does not have to remain identical 365 days a year.
12 · When Your Skin Has More Than One Problem

Oily does not mean tough.

🌿

Oily + sensitive

Use a gentle cleanser, a simple lightweight moisturiser and comfortable sunscreen. Introduce one active at a time rather than assuming your oily skin can tolerate everything.

🔴

Oily + acne-prone

A routine for oiliness is not automatically an acne treatment plan. Persistent whiteheads, inflamed pimples, jawline acne, cysts or scarring deserve acne-specific management.

13 · Optional Products

If you genuinely need an active, keep the choice small.

Product Origin Approx. price Main role Best for Watch-out
AccuFix Niacinamide Serum Pakistan PKR ~1,801–2,095 Optional niacinamide serum Women wanting one multipurpose active Not mandatory merely because skin is oily.
Primary Cica Peptide Recovery Serum Pakistan PKR ~2,700 5% niacinamide + supportive ingredients Oily skin wanting a moderate niacinamide option Still another product—only buy it if it serves a real purpose.
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% Imported PKR ~3,950 High-strength niacinamide serum Experienced users who tolerate it 10% is not automatically superior to lower-strength products.
For blackheads and clogged pores, rather than automatically adding a separate salicylic-acid serum, you may prefer to start with a salicylic-acid cleanser and then read our dedicated pores and blackheads guide .
14 · Build by Budget

You do not need a PKR 20,000 routine.

More expensive skincare can buy different textures, packaging and imported formulations—but price does not rise in direct proportion to how much better your oily skin will become.

Budget, mid-range and imported oily skin routines with skincare products and prices in Pakistan
BUDGET

Approx. PKR 3,000–5,000

Cleanser: affordable local gentle cleanser

Moisturiser: Dermive Oil Free or similar, if needed

Sunscreen: Spectra Matt / suitable local SPF

No serum required unless there is a defined problem.

MID-RANGE

Approx. PKR 6,000–10,000

Allows more texture choices, one targeted treatment and perhaps a more cosmetically elegant sunscreen.

This does not mean the routine must contain more steps.

IMPORTED / PREMIUM

PKR 12,000–20,000+

Imported cleanser + gel moisturiser + premium Asian/European sunscreen can quickly push the routine into this range.

Premium is an option—not a medical requirement.

Will a PKR 20,000 routine control your oily skin four times better than a sensible PKR 5,000 routine?
No.
15 · Spend Smarter

Where should you actually spend your money?

🫧

Cleanser

It doesn’t need to be luxurious. It spends a short time on your face and is then washed away.

🧴

Moisturiser

Pay for a texture your skin finds comfortable, not prestige branding.

💧

Actives

Ingredient choice, formulation and tolerance matter more than an expensive logo.

☀️

Sunscreen

This is where paying more for a texture you genuinely enjoy can sometimes be worthwhile—because an unpleasant sunscreen often becomes an unused sunscreen.

16 · Imported Products

Be careful with authenticity—not just price.

Imported skincare in Pakistan often moves through resellers, so stock, pricing and authenticity can vary considerably.

When buying imported skincare:

Prefer established retailers, check packaging and batch information, avoid deals that seem unrealistically cheap, and remember that a random Instagram seller calling something “100% original” is not proof of authenticity.

This is another reason good Pakistani products can make practical sense: easier repurchasing, clearer pricing and fewer authenticity concerns.

17 · Ready-Made Examples

Three simple routines you can actually follow

✨ Very Oily Beginner

Morning:
Cleanse/rinse → lightweight sunscreen

Night:
Gentle cleanse → lightweight moisturiser if needed

No serum unless another concern appears.

⚫ Oily + Blackheads

Morning:
Gentle cleanse → moisturiser if needed → sunscreen

Night:
Salicylic-acid cleanser according to tolerance → moisturiser

If congestion remains significant, move to the dedicated pores guide rather than endlessly adding acids.

🌿 Oily + Sensitive

Morning:
Gentle rinse/cleanse → simple moisturiser if needed → sunscreen

Night:
Gentle cleanser → lightweight moisturiser

Keep actives minimal and introduce one change at a time.
